Enjoy Woody Allen films? Penelope Cruz? How about Italian horror movies? If your answer was any (or all) of the above, then you should pen this one into your diary.
The 13th annual Lavazza Italian Film Festival will feature a program of over 30 award-winning, critically acclaimed Italian films. The festival, presented by Palace Cinemas and supported by Lavazza Coffee, will screen at 14 locations around the country and include highlights from internationally revered film forums such as Cannes and Sundance, as well as live entertainment, cooking demonstrations, food and wine tastings and indulgent opening and closing night parties.
Woody Allen's latest, To Rome With Love, starring Penelope Cruz, Judy Davis, Alec Baldwin and Roberto Benigni, has been selected to close the festivals in Sydney and Melbourne, while the latest comedy from beloved Italian actor Carlo Verdone will screen on closing night in Brisbane, Adelaide and Perth. For those horror-movie buffs out there in Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, audiences will receive an extra treat: a screening of the popular Gates of Hell Trilogy from Italy's “Godfather of Gore”, the late Lucio Fulci.
