A group of passionate women are striving to grow an inclusive tribe of highly aware, intelligent and likeminded ladies – and their first order of business is to eliminate the stigma associated with certain curse words.
Primarily a record label, though also an artistic community that aims to empower others, God Queen has developed a multi-sensory music theatre show exploring feminine sexuality in our psyche, language, planet, and the cosmos.
“We're definitely looking at the power of language, and why as a society and culturally we assign certain words with such negative and derogative connotation, when they describe our bodies and our sexuality,” God Queen member ALPHAMAMA reveals. “Why is the vilest word in the English language to do with women’s sexuality, for example?”
Audience members at the production, set to premiere at the Sydney Fringe Festival in September, can expect to interact with God Queen through song, movement, and dance during the show.
“Music-wise we definitely want to put our best foot forward – the songs will be very beautiful, and very powerful,” ALPHAMAMA says. “But we're also trying to incorporate new ways of engaging people – some parts of the show will be quite visceral as we explore feminine sexuality and sensuality.”
'QUEEN CXNT' also delves into complex quantum physics theories.
“We’ll be looking at the parallels of the feminine polarity in the cosmos, such as the cause and effects of binary code,” ALPHAMAMA explains. “Women's bodies are the portal in which all of us human beings have to come into the physical universe, and that’s something people don’t often remember.”
Ultimately, God Queen hopes the crowd can come away with an enlightened sense of perspective, and a renewed feeling of empowerment: “I think the biggest concept we’ll be looking at is the power we have over our own lives – individually and collectively.”
“I hope the audience can learn to zoom out, see our place in the ever-expanding cosmos, and grasp the way we truly create our own destiny.”
Although the production has only been in the making over the past few months, ALPHAMAMA has been relaying women's issues and feministic opinions through her music for years. The singer/songwriter recently dropped her new track ‘Ass in the Front’, which she describes as her middle finger to the music industry.

“It's all about how the music industry, or the entertainment industry and celebrities, use music as a tool to distract us, to make us numb, to keep us in a state of apathy,” she says. “Deep down, we all know that there are so many atrocious things happening in the world, and we all know that we should be doing something about it, but instead we distract ourselves with trivial entertainment.”
“Music is such a powerful tool, and can be used in so many incredible ways, though I believe it’s often exploited and subjugated by the wrong people for the wrong reasons.”
ALPHAMAMA will release her completed album in September, but until then plans to perfect 'QUEEN CXNT' with her God Queen tribe. “I think Sydney will be the perfect place to develop and premiere this show,” she exclaims. “We do have plans to continue to expand it and tour it globally, but for now, we're so lucky that we have the privilege to freely expressive our views on gender, sexuality, activism and art.”
