Perth’s iconic Fringe World Festival returns in January-February of 2025, for a dazzling celebration of everything spectacular, fantastical, and unforgettably Fringe.
The 2025 programme is simply packed, with thrilling new acts, fan favourites, and unexpected experiences. There are more than 190 world premieres, more than 30 Australian premieres, more than 80 WA premieres, and more than 300 new performances.
“Fringe World Festival is all about igniting Perth with creativity and joy,” ARTRAGE CEO Jo Thomas says. “This year’s programme is packed with an incredible variety—from comedy and circus to theatre and cabaret—promising unforgettable experiences for all. We can’t wait to share it with Perth and watch audiences come alive with FRINGE energy.”
Fringe World will light up stages across 18 Petro metro councils, from the City of Joondalup to the City of Rockingham and the City of Kalamunda – with Perth remaining the Fringe epicentre as it hosts the largest number of venues and performances in the line-up.
The Pleasure Garden is back, with a huge schedule of showstoppers. . . As is The Rechabite, State Theatre Centre, The Ellington Jazz Club, The Laugh Resort, His Majesty’s Theatre, and Ice Cream Factory.
Plus, the suburbs are set to come alive. There will be offerings at Fremantle Comedy Club, Lyric’s Underground in Marylands, Subiaco Arts Centre, and venues across Rockingham.
More than 500 shows are on sale, meaning those keen to attend will be spoilt for choice, with acts spanning genres like comedy, music, circus, dance, theatre, cabaret, and community events.
Gravity & Other Myths are set to revive the critically-acclaimed ‘A Simple Space’, foxy ladies take centre stage in Thomas Jaspers’ ‘Fountain Lakes In Lockdown’, David Eriksson returns in ‘Apple Sauce’ as does ‘Bernie Dieter’s Club Kabarett’, and audiences can celebrate new wonderment in ‘Briefs: Jealousss’.
The LOLs will come in thick and fast as ‘Thank God You’re Here’ album Luke McGregor presents his new show ‘OK, Wow’. Plus, international sell-out sensation Garry Starr will perform ‘Classic Penguins’, and three-time GRAMMY-winning Soweto Gospel Choir will bring ‘HOPE’ to the Fringe.
Audiences can elevate their summer with Lewis Major’s ‘Triptych’, rediscover friendship at Barking Gecko’s ‘The Quadrangle’, get dramatic with ‘FAG/STAG’ from WA theatremakers The Last Great Hunt, and explore a cosmic, cabaret saloon in the Ashton Legacy Productions world premiere ‘LASSU’.
“Fringe is something that I look forward to every year – it never fails to delight and entertain,” Western Australian Culture and Arts Minister David Templeman says. “The best bit about Fringe is seeing the city and some of our outer metropolitan areas activated and alive, it is part of what makes summer so special.”
Fringe World Perth 2025 is on from 17 January-16 February.
