Nel Da Silva is making her way to Sydney Fringe Festival with her one-woman performance, 'Frankghanistan'.
The show includes Nel Da Silva, and her alter ego Noel, leaving no stone unturned as they explore racism, violence, misogyny, sexual orientation, identity, and what it means to call Australia 'home'.
Noel the local takes guests on a guided tour of his hometown, Frankston, alongside a handful of locals and the live Franga band, while Nel opens up her art and soul in a performance that leaves audiences jaw-dropped and wanting more.
Delivering her storytelling through performing art, spoken word, documentary, cabaret and burlesque vignettes, Nel shares defining moments in regards to the coming of age.
“Frankston is a diamond in the rough,” Nel explains. “It was the perfect place for my Pakistani-born, Chinese/Anglo-Indian/Portuguese parents to raise me as a typical Australian. In many ways I got the best of both worlds.”
With sellout performances at the Melbourne International Comedy Festival and the Darwin Fringe Festival, 'Frankghanistan' is described as amazing, thought-provoking and hilarious by various audiences.
