Fool's Paradise Is Adelaide Fringe's Newest Festival Precinct Dedicated To Music, Theatre, Circus & More

Fool's Paradise runs 17 February to 19 March as part of 2023 Adelaide Fringe.
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Set to host burlesque, music, dance, circus and physical theatre events throughout the 2023 Adelaide Fringe, Fool's Paradise is a new festival precinct located at Tarntanyangga - Victoria Square.

A space featuring two distinctive venues, The Vault and The Pyramid, Fool's Paradise will host 25 Adelaide Fringe acts including Head First Acrobats' award winning-show 'GODZ' (2022 Best Circus and Adelaide Fringe Critics Choice weekly award winner).

Standing at 15m tall, it will be impossible to miss The Pyramid, which will be headlined by Penny Arcade. The Pyramid will also celebrate South Australia's exceptional food and drink choices through exclusive long-table lunches.

During the evenings at Fool's Paradise audiences of all ages will have a choice between multiple high-quality, expert circus, physical theatre and music acts from long-time Fringe favourites such as YUCK Circus and Barbaroi and internationally acclaimed performers including French aerialist Farid Ayelem Rahmouni.

Weekend late-nights will see Paradise turn into an afterparty with adults-only shows, Crème de la Crème and CLUB FREAK OUT! set to charm audiences well into the night.

Weekend afternoons will be a parents delight in Fool's Paradise with a family-friendly line-up of circus and physical theatre including award-winner PreHysterical, the brand-new YeeHaw! and much more.

Fool's Paradise has been designed by Head First Acrobats, who have proven to be crowd-favourites at festivals across Australia and internationally year after year.

"I love the sense of family and community in Adelaide Fringe. Each year friends from all over the world converge into one frenzied month for the Fringe. It's a beautiful thing," Thomas Gorham, co-founder of Head First Acrobats & Fool's Paradise says.

"We started Fool's Paradise for a multitude of reasons. This festival offers so many opportunities, and we're hoping our site can offer stable financial and working conditions for festival artists after a pretty tough couple of years.

"Visitors can expect world-class acts within a gorgeous outdoor site with space to enjoy the sunshine, a South Australian wine and connect with the arts scene in Australia's largest arts festival."
