The show was born in Brisbane in 1997. Its first festival appearance was Melbourne International Comedy Festival in 2007, and it's been touring internationally since 2008. 'Faulty Towers The Dining Experience' has been talked up in countless raving reviews and showcased in over 40 countries. It stands to be the longest-running tribute to the canonical sitcom and has solidified its position as a fabulous night out.
The true beauty of 'Faulty Towers' is that the show is over 70 per cent improvised, and by no means demands that you become a 'Fawlty Towers' aficionado before purchasing a ticket to the show. The script is completely original and stars actors who are so well-versed in the art of improvisation, you will forget that they are rolling with the punches just as much as you are.
As a result of the constant growth and success of the show, the company are currently looking for a new Basil who is based in Australia.
The 2020 Adelaide Fringe line-up, however, includes a worldwide Basil favourite, Rob Langston, as well as two renowned Australian performers: Anthony Sottile (Manuel) and Rebecca Fortuna (Sybil).
Oh, and keep your eyes peeled. . . The gang will continue to bring the show around the country throughout 2020.
