Evangeline Cachinero Is The Girl You Used To Know

Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Lust for Life, the Valley's favourite tattoo-parlour-meets-espresso-bar-meets-art-gallery (it may also be the only venue in the Valley that matches that description), is excited to feature a local artist with a Spanish flare: Evangeline Cachinero.

Cachinero's work has been exhibited over seas in Amsterdam and Berlin and featured in local magazines Frankie Magazine and The Weekender. Her success is seen through her works which explore relationships, social media and shared emotion portrayed through bright colours and thick textures.

Born in Australia, Cachinero developed her artistic eye through a childhood spread between Spain, North America and was recently refined through a Masters at Monash University. A childhood surrounded by Spanish artists, such as Picasso and Joan Miro is reflected her use of loud thick colours and nobly bodies but is contrasted with an attention to detail and intricate pencilled layers.

Cachinero has been the recipient of many local prizes and her artwork, art projects and writing have been published in magazines and blogs throughout the world.

Lust For Life (176 Wickham St, Fortitude Valley) proudly presents Evangeline Cachinero's The Girl I Used To Know exhibition throughout December 2012. It launches on Thursday December 6 from 7pm – 9pm.
