Brisbane-based creator of EmbroiTherese, Therese Smith, is a self-taught embroiderer whose passion for textiles extends back to her childhood.
Inspired by life's little treasures, Therese has been creating the likes of dinosaurs, dogs, pineapples and beer with a needle and thread for several months. With a love of bold block colours and natural lines, her individual works are a labour of love.
As well as an assortment of wild animals and critters, Therese does commissioned pet portraits – "well, commissioned anything really." Currently displaying a bunch of her embroidery at The Scratch Bar, Therese says, "I definitly approve of craft beer consumption and art appreciation simultaneously."
EmbroiTherese's display is on at The Scratch Bar until 17 February.
