Earth Frequency: The Arts

Menage A Poi
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Part of creating an unforgettable festival experience is quality performance art, and Earth Frequency Festival nurtures a range of outlets for performers of all kinds.

From the Saturday night fire show, indigenous welcome to country and opening ceremony, to roving performers, special stage shows and random acts of spontaneous theatre... there's lots to keep the magical vibes flowing!

This year’s line-up of artists includes jugglers, circus and fire performers, belly dancers and bingo calling grannies — the following is a small selection of the acts who’ll be performing at this year’s Earth Frequency.

Lady LynxThe Lady Lynx

The Lady Lynx: “A constellation of ladies adorned in costumes of creative elegance and grace made with mostly recycled fabrics, bringing a colourful and magical essence to the festival.”

Sacred CircusSacred Circus

Sacred Circus: “Daring to dream, and delivering a wonderfully unique entertainment portfolio of visually spectacular acts, Sacred Circus was born from the charismatic combination of elaborate themed costume, quirky characters, sophisticated sight acts, and a finely selected team of experienced and talented boutique entertainers. Keep an eye out for Sacred Circus roaming about the festival in costumes that are artworks in their own right. Share in their creative circus-like presentations of tricks, props, sass, interactive characters and mysterious muses.”

Elemental AlchemyElemental Alchemy

Elemental Alchemy: “Elemental Alchemy is a performance troupe made up of women from all over Australia. Their focus is to bring a new element to festival culture. Each of the women embodies an element and dances the energy of that element as well as offering the ceremonial essences of that element with sacred resins, essential oils, white sage.”

Menage A Poi: “Menage A Poi is a collaboration between Fire FX’s Billy Tempest and Marky Spark and Josie Jupiter from Puzzle Dust Circus. The trio have performed together at Splendour In The Grass and again at New Zealand's Under The Spinfluence Festival in 2013. Individually these fire artists have performed at countless events and festivals across Australia and internationally.”

Garbage Grannies: “After years of monumental hip shuffling across terrain not yet paved for their Zimmer frames, the Garbage Grannies have given up all hope of finding their beloved game of bingo! So this year to save their hips and trolley tires, and give up the endless search for bingo happiness, they’ve decided to offer the good people of Earth Frequency the opportunity to come along to Sacred Geo Bingo. So if you love the sound of two phat ladies calling a delightful game of bingo, bring along your favourite stamper, it could be your lucky day.”

Earth Frequency takes place at Ivory’s Rock, Peak Crossing, February 14-17.
