The Australian professional premiere of ‘Cruel Intentions: The ‘90s Musical’, based on the 1999 cult classic film, will head to Melbourne and Sydney next year.
Created by the film’s writer Roger Kumble, as well as Jordan Ross and Lindsey Rosin, the musical is a nostalgia-fuelled ‘90s party filled with the bangers of the era. Music includes The Verve’s ‘Bittersweet Symphony’ among classics from Boyz II Men, Christina Aguilera, Backstreet Boys, Goo Goo Dolls, *NSYNC, and Britney Spears.
The musical has even been endorsed and praised by the film’s stars Reese Witherspoon, Sarah Michelle Gellar, Selma Blair and Ryan Phillippe. Up to now, it has enjoyed a host of sell-out shows across the US and UK.

Prepare to be charmed all over again as this musical brings the film to life in a whole new way with ‘90s tunes offering the ultimate throwback experience.”

They find themselves engaged in a web of secrets, temptation, and love.

‘Cruel Intentions’ starts at Melbourne’s Athenaeum Theatre from 25 May, and heads to Sydney’s State Theatre from 29 June.
