If you’ve ever wished for an adult spin on those wonderfully messy ’90s kids’ art programmes, 'Creative Juices' is here to make your dreams come true.
This interactive comedy show, created by Timothy Christopher Ryan – the mind behind the award-winning 'Moist' – is here to offer a hilarious, no-judgment space for silly art-making and nostalgic fun. Packed with fringe-style humour and raucous laughter, it’s an invitation to embrace your creative chaos.
“I made 'Creative Juices' as a moment of play for adults, a space where we can embrace the ridiculous and share a laugh,” Timothy says.
“The show was created as a reaction to the idea that we have to be good at art, singing and dancing to able to engage with them, being creative is a part of us and no matter our skill level we should be embracing it.”
Inspired by the delightful anarchy of paint-and-sip classes and the whimsy of childhood crafts, 'Creative Juices' takes art to a whole new level and will be playing as part of this year's Fringe World Festival in Perth.

“I have ADHD and can't stand sitting in a show where I have to be quiet and still, so I make theatre where the audience is encouraged to move about and react physically and verbally to the action,” Timothy explains. “I love seeing the audience coming to the show slightly apprehensive about the idea of interaction, but then half-way through the show they're the ones jumping up to be in the action.”
From noodle-inspired self-portraits to cheeky life drawing and UV body painting, it’s all about unleashing your inner artist in the most fun, carefree way imaginable. Whether you’re creating 'judgment monsters' or doodling like no one’s watching, this show promises a one-of-a-kind experience that’s equal parts comedy and creativity.
"It's such a heartwarming feeling seeing the audience leave the show beaming with smiles while holding some ridiculously silly artworks."
'Creative Juices' plays Lotterywest De Parel Spiegeltent at The Pleasure Garden (Fringe World) 22-30 January.
