Majella has been part of the scenestr “scene” for over 20 years. She has interviewed some of the biggest names in the music industry but the size of the star doesn’t matter as much as the quality of the conversation.

The human body is phenomenal and what it is capable of is often forgotten. . . Until you see a show like ‘Peepshow’ and witness incredible physical feats that will blow your mind.

In an era where the bar keeps being raised higher and higher in all industries especially circus and physical theatre, it can be easy to go for the showy tricks and intimidating choreography. Along the way, nuances and subtleties can be lost or forgotten and a show can lack depth.

Not so for this creation – the team at Circa have combined impressive physicality with an energy of seduction, reflection and playfulness.

The stage was sparkling due to the backdrop of a wall of silver tinsel, representing a mirror and the performers stepped between two worlds: being visible and being hidden.

Incorporating acrobatic feats, towers of balancing bodies, unbelievable bending. . . Showcasing flexibility which was hard to fathom and gracefully swaying aerial sets.

The team were cohesive and in sync, focused and precise but you still saw grins on their faces or excited looks when performing which made it even more enjoyable to be in the audience.

It’s a show reminding you life is more than what you can see, your body can do more than you realise and behind every mirror is another version of the world being reflected back to you.

'Peepshow' plays Queensland Performing Arts Centre until 25 January.
