Get ready to emerge into spring with the Chatswood StreetFair this September.
Signalling the new season, Chatswood StreetFair is presented as part of Emerge Festival, offering events, music, arts and markets all through September. Whether you're up for tai chi classes, an opera performance, a night walk or some floral arranging – Emerge Festival's vision is to celebrate Willoughby City Council's diversity and creativity.
Emerge features events for the whole family, right across Willoughby City. . . Just in time to emerge from the cold of winter to enjoy the sunshine, take part in outdoor activities, and discover new groups and events.
There's something for everyone!
As for the Chatswood StreetFair, things kick off with the street parade, where hundreds of members from community groups will dance and sing their way through Chatswood CBD, down Anderson Street and Victoria Avenue past The Concourse, finishing near Chatswood Chase.
The parade signals what will follow: a huge day of activities, demonstrations, food and fun. This year's programme has received a fresh coat of paint. Food trucks, retail stalls, music performances, rides, furry animals, reptile zoo, circus activities and video gaming.
More highlights include a jumping castle at The Concourse Upper Podium, and musical performances on three stages.
“The food trucks, retail stalls, musical performances, family-friendly rides, furry animals and reptile zoo, circus activities, and video gaming mean there’s something for all interests and age groups,” Willoughby City Council Mayor Tanya Taylor says.
Chatswood StreetFair takes place on 7 September as part of Emerge Festival, which runs from 1 September-13 October.
