A husband-wife duo, Cameo Rascale are an internationally acclaimed acrobatic, comedy, juggling act who return to Fringe World Perth after wowing audiences in 2021.
The partnership of James and Rebecca, Cameo Rascale was first established by James' parents who were an adagio act for more than a decade, with James and his younger sister joining the onstage action when they were five and four respectively.
After a successful career (that included reaching the Grand Final of 'Australia's Got Talent' in 2009), when James' parents retired he decided to continue their legacy when he turned 18.
A trained dancer and a passionate performer, James' partner Rebecca joined in 2015 and Cameo Rascale continues to present a world-class show featuring juggling, acrobatics, adagio, LED effects, balancing, unicycling, dance, rola bola and comedy.
Last year, the pair married and also made their debut at Fringe World; in 2022 they return with a brand-new show.
What are you looking forward to about presenting at Fringe World?
We have been working hard on new skills and routines to bring our audiences another jam packed, entertaining show.
How do you hope audiences respond?
We love our audiences full of energy, loud and cheerful. We thrive off the crowd's enthusiasm and it makes our job so much easier.
Any funny/interesting anecdotes about the show's creation/rehearsals?
In January 2021 we got married and performed our first dance to 'Dirty Dancing''s 'Time Of My Life'. We have incorporated this routine into this year's show and can't wait to share it with you all.
Anything else you'd like to add?
We have been performing on international cruise ships for seven years together, taking our show all over the world. The last two years we have been privileged enough to continue performing in our home state of WA and to be a part of Fringe World festival for the first time last year. We are looking forward to this year's shows.
'Cameo Rascale' plays Lotterywest De Parel Spiegeltent at The Pleasure Garden (Fringe World) 21 January-6 February.
