The award-winning, anthemic pop musical ‘& Juliet’ has celebrated a spectacular, sold-out season in Melbourne, and its next two homes will be Perth and Sydney.

‘& Juliet’ is set to land in Perth first, this December. The Australian production is led by Lorinda May Merrypor in the title role, Australian music industry legend Rob Mills as Shakespeare, and Amy Lehpamer, who tries to rewrite the narrative as his wife, Anne.

The musical, made up of songs from the legendary producer Max Martin, flips the script on the greatest love story ever told. . . Imagining what would happen if Juliet hadn’t ended it all over Romeo, and got a second chance at life, and love, on her terms. It’s been nominated for nine Tony Awards including Best Musical, and features songs like ‘Baby One More Time’, ‘Roar’, ‘Since You’ve Been Gone’, ‘Larger Than Life’, ‘That’s The Way It Is’, ‘Can’t Stop The Feeling’ and more.

Also in ‘& Juliet’, as that other half of the star-crossed lovers, is ‘Fangirls’ heartthrob Blake Appelqvist, Casey Donovan as Angelique, Hayden Tee as Lance, and newcomers Jesse Dutlow and Yashith Fernando as May and Francois respectively.

On ‘& Juliet’ hitting Perth, Australian Producer Michael Cassel says “we were overjoyed with the response Melbourne had to ‘& Juliet’, and we can’t wait to hear Perth roar when the show opens there in December.” On Sydney’s run from February 2024, he added “if there were ever a show and a city that were made for each other it is Sydney and ‘& Juliet’ and I am thrilled we are finally bringing them together. This show that celebrates joy, love, diversity and taking chances are the same things that inspire and drive the people of Sydney and we can’t wait to share it with them.”

‘& Juliet’ hits Perth’s Crown Theatre from 30 December 2023-8 February 2024, and Sydney’s Lyric Theatre from 27 February-28 April.
