This summer, a nine-night extravaganza is set to take over Sydney historic precinct The Rocks, for Sydney Fringe Sideshow.
It's a celebration of comedy, theatre, music, dance, immersive performance, projection and installation works.
Three main sideshow venues for the event are The Terraces, The Observer and The Old Coroner's Court. . . Plus, there's a secret location: The Gallery. Attendees can go from one venue to the next to discover what's on offer, from laugh-out-loud comedy to must-see theatre.
The Lounge Room Confabulators
Opening things up is a weekend filled with entertainment. There's home-grown talent like internationally-acclaimed theatre duo The Lounge Room Confabulators, plus some uproarious comedy with Secret Comedy Club and Black Label Comedy. Also on offer will be cabaret maverick Traumamisu and some tunes from Grown Ocean.
Once you've cooled down from the opening weekend, there's plenty more to see and do – maybe you're a blues fan (Georgia Mooney, Prinnie Stevens in 'Lady Sings The Blues'); perhaps you're keen to get down to some electro ('20 Cent Dog'); or you might just want to take in all the glory of pop music (Leah Flanagan, Tessa Thames, Abby Dobson).
'Hot Chick/Tired Mum'
On the other hand, perhaps you'd like to absorb some storytelling (Stuart Bowden: 'Of Moonset') or appreciate a bit of visual art ('Liminal' by Tortuga Studios).
To close it all off, there's a bunch of things happening on closing weekend like projection installations from Tortuga Studios, The Funniest Comedians You've Never Heard Of, storyteller and award-winner Nella, and Sydney Fringe Best Comedy nominee 'Hot Chick/Tired Mum'.
Tickets are on sale now.
Sydney Fringe Sideshow is on from 25 February-6 March.
