The eight-time Tony Award-nominated hit musical ‘Beetlejuice The Musical’ will play Adelaide this October and conclude its national tour in Sydney in November.

‘Beetlejuice’ tells the story of Lydia Deetz, a strange and unusual teenager who is obsessed with the whole “being dead thing”. Lucky for Lydia, her new house is haunted by a recently deceased couple, and a degenerate demon, with a thing for stripes.

When Lydia calls on this ghost-with-the-most to scare away her insufferable parents, Beetlejuice comes up with a perfect plan which involves exorcism, an adorable Girl Scout scared out of her wits, and a whole (nether)world of pandemonium.

The next stop is Adelaide.

“‘Beetlejuice’ is one of those shows that’s equal parts wild fun and unexpected heart, and I’m thrilled to bring it to Adelaide,” Eddie Perfect says. “I’ve always had a special connection to this city, it feels familiar and creatively fearless. Adelaide audiences have a deep appreciation for comedy, and a seasoned taste for quality musical theatre, so I can’t wait to share this wonderfully outrageous musical with you.”

Broadway star Andy Karl will reprise his role as Beetlejuice.

“Beetlejuice is one of the funniest, wildest shows I’ve ever had the joy of performing. I’ve heard so many great things about the incredible arts and festival scene in Adelaide, and now it’s time to stir up a little mischief together,” Andy says. I can’t wait to bring the chaos and comedy of Beetlejuice your way.”

Then, the show will conclude with a season in Sydney.

“Sydney is a city that embraces big ideas and bold theatrical experiences,” Eddie Perfect continues. “’Beetlejuice’ is unapologetically outrageous, packed with heart, spectacle, and a healthy dose of anarchic comedy, and I know Sydney audiences will fall in love with this gloriously twisted world.”

“Knowing this city will be the final stop on our Australian tour makes it even more special,” Andy adds. “This show will bring the laughter, the music and just the right amount of mayhem to one of the world’s great theatre cities.”

’Beetlejuice The Musical’ plays Festival Theatre (Adelaide) from October, and Capitol Theatre (Sydney) from November.
