Awful/ Big Adventure @ Anywhere Festival Review

The audience had no idea what to expect from a party with Pan and The Lost Boys. But an invitation to a house party in a heritage-listed building sounds like a perfect Saturday night.

Embellished in glow sticks the patrons collect individual tuckshop bags containing a house map and a message. As per the house rules, this was an adult party of the 'choose your own adventure' kind.

Approached by some of The Lost Boys – who were obviously deep into the party at this stage – one asked for help to look for something lost but he wasn’t sure exactly what. Others came to share some of their Wizz Fizz goodies. Some guests followed The Lost Boys, some explored the house and others followed their tuckshop bag message. All roads eventually led to 'The Stage' where Peter, the party host, gave an official welcoming speech.

One Lost Boy gathered a group to join him in ‘The Attic’ which turned into a scavenger hunt. “I want some drugs but we don’t have any so let’s make some!” The group then scattered to search for ingredients including: ‘Unicorn Blood’, ‘A Memaid’s Egg’ and ‘White Powder’.

While some guests were on their own mission, others continued to explore, opening doors and finding keys for unopened ones. Silent, mythical creatures were spread throughout as guides and clues.

Gathered into 'The War Room' for the celebratory 'toasting' (which including slices of bread and a toaster), The Lost Boys were elated toasting their hero and party host Peter. They even forced her to make her own toast and to say she loved them. She storms out of the room in annoyance. This harsh exit and a note reading ‘I want to leave Neverland’ left The Lost Boys confused and turning on each other.

The guests, unsure of the next step, continue to enjoy the house and their vodka juice boxes until the lost boys, still in their panicked state, decide to hunt Peter down in order to ‘forget her’.

The hunt leads everyone back up to 'The Attic' where Peta is tied up and officially forgotten in a ceremony which included white paint and black lights. As The Lost Boys leave her, guests help to untie her.

The party was officially over leaving everyone looking for Tinkerbell.
