The 10th Asia Pacific Triennial Of Contemporary Art (APT10) comes to a close at Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery Of Modern Art (QAGOMA) this April with a two-day festival.
The festival is set to celebrate the creativity, diversity and vibrancy of the Asia Pacific Region. More than 140 artists and performers will present more than 40 free events including art-making workshops, dance and music performances, storytelling, cooking demonstrations, talks and more.
“Visitors can catch pop-up performances by the Brisbane Pride Choir and APT10 artist Brian Fuata; drop by the story garden featuring APT10 artist Gordon Hookey, writers Nadine Chemali and Sandhya Parappukkaran and members of The Pacific Climate Warriors; and join art-making workshops designed by APT10 artists Phuong Ngo, Shannon Novak, Vipoo Srivilasa and the Brisbane Tongan Community,” QAGOMA Director Chris Saines says.
There’ll be special guests and artists exploring the world we inhabit and the future of art. . . In talks like ‘So…where are you from?’, ‘Art Futures’, ‘Wit: A Weapon Of Mass Disruption’ and ‘I’m Not Racist But…’.

Cooking demo ‘You Are What You Eat’ will feature former ‘Masterchef’ contestant and chef Emily Yeoh and APT10 artist Vipoo Srivilasa, as they share recipes close to their hearts and highlight the role food plays in connecting to/celebrating culture.
Then, things conclude with a curated Performance Extravaganza featuring high energy performances from some of Queensland’s best dance troupes, musicians and performers – including Digi Youth Arts, Dance Masala, Conscious Mic, Hiraya Performing Artists and more.
APT10 is on from 23-24 April at Queensland Art Gallery / Gallery Of Modern Art and online.
