The anticipated return of Anya Anastasia to Adelaide Fringe 2018 is now official, and this time she’s delivering two shows.
As a multi-award-winning entertainer, the cabaret-comedy-songstress-diva has regular sell-out shows. ‘Rogue Romantic’ features an all-female band including Annie Siegman on bass, Rachel Trainor on drums and Laurie Black on electric piano. The show has been described by VoiceMag UK as ‘armed with mischievous social satire and original songs that range from the sublime to the absurd, from the sultry magnificence of a Bond theme to raucous post-apocalyptic calypso’.
The Edinburgh Award recipient also announces the world premiere of a new show entitled ‘The Executioners’, to play at The Lab 8-12 March 2018. The show will dismember the nation’s political and social current affairs. The performance will also touch on society’s dependence on technology, social media and the social discomfort and disconnect that has taken over the 21st century.

Written by the performer herself with partner-in-crime Gareth Chin, the show is described as ‘hard-hitting’ with a ‘no holding back approach’. “This show is a thrilling new vehicle for me – I’m using my craft to provoke the conversation I want the world to be having, broadcast through tight choreography, lighting effects and interwoven soundscapes,” Anya says of the show.
The feisty songstress will deliver a show to remember both in ‘The Executioners’ and ‘Rogue Romantic’, the latter of which promises electrifying twists, hilarious physical comedy and intense audience interaction. One such reviewer who experienced this commented to ‘never mess with a woman who can do a handstand across your lap while maintaining perfect pitch’.
