From the producers of the hugely successful Agatha Christie’s ‘The Mousetrap’ comes a brand-new production of Agatha Christie’s best-selling crime novel of all time: ‘And Then There Were None’.
The production is set to open at Melbourne’s Comedy Theatre in February 2025, before hitting Theatre Royal Sydney from May 2025.
‘And Then There Were None’ has sold more than 100 million copies. It’s been translated into multiple languages and adapted for film and television many times. In 2015, ‘And Then There Were None’ was voted the world’s favourite Agatha Christie story, in a global vote which saw fans from more than 100 countries vote.
Ten people are lured to a solitary mansion, on an island off the English coast. A storm cuts them off from the mainland, and the true reason for their presence on the island soon becomes horribly clear.
‘And Then There Were None’ was first adapted to the stage in 1943. This new production is directed by Australian theatrical icon Robyn Nevin (‘The Mousetrap’), and is gorgeously grim thriller set to keep audiences on the edge of their seat.
“‘And Then There Were None’ marks the return of the great Agatha Christie to the stage. So naturally, following the huge success of ‘The Mousetrap’ which she directed, I wanted to reunite acclaimed theatre Director Robyn Nevin with one of the greatest, edge-of-your-seat thrillers Agatha Christie ever wrote,” Producer John Frost says.
“‘The Mousetrap’ was a joy to direct: complex characters, each carrying a secret,” Director Robyn Nevin says. “One was murdered, one was the killer. That is a mystery. This is a thriller. Christie at her finest. It’s a triumph of plotting and suspense. I’m thrilled to be directing this thriller.”
Robyn Nevin AO is one of the most prominent and prolific artistic figures Australia has produced. She has experience on stage, on screen, and in the world of directing.
Tickets are on sale for the Melbourne season on 23 August, and the Sydney season on 6 September.
‘And Then There Were None’ plays Comedy Theatre (Melbourne) from February 2025, and Theatre Royal Sydney from May 2025.
