Can you believe it’s already time to talk about Adelaide’s mad-March again? Well you better believe it because Fringe season is just around the corner, so close in fact, that pre-sale tickets for a few shows are already up for grabs.
The Garden Of Unearthly Delights, an icon of Adelaide’s festival madness, has released some of their shows for sale ahead of the full 2016 programme announcement early December. There is comedy, music, puppetry and anti-burlesque to name a few.
One of the big name comedians, Wil Anderson (yes, of television fame), brings his brand new show ‘Wil Anderson: Fire At Wil’ to the stage for a three-week season. After winning the People’s Choice Award at the Melbourne Comedy Festival no less than five times.

In his company is Aussie favourite and lanky comedy hero Frank Woodley with a show especially for kids, ‘Noodlenut’. Full of wonderful nonsense, Woodley is allegedly in his natural habitat with this show, performing for the pure joy of it.
In the company of comedians there is the increasingly-popular, small purple man named Randy, and his human friend Sammy (also of television fame) who, in this theatrical adventure, borrow $3 million and open a theme park. What could possibly go wrong?

Joining the Garden’s star-studded comedy bandwagon is Sam Simmons; Barry Award-winner and master of surreal hilarity in the Australian premiere of his show ‘Not A People Person’. He won Best Comedy at this year’s Edinburgh Fringe and Best Show at the Melbourne Comedy Festival and is known for bringing us millionaire cats eating Viennetta, gypsy cuddles and nanna wanks.

Rounding out the early comedy offerings are American funny-man Rich Hall with his satirical scorn, and Dave Hughes (aka Hughesy) with only two weeks of his new show, ‘Dave Hughes – Sweet’.
Even more exciting is the announcement of 'PULPSHOW'. All underground-pop-culture-physical-theatre lovers will no doubt be familiar with the work of Leah Shelton. After touring internationally with Polytoxic Dance Theatre and strutting her stuff in Las Vegas with ‘Venus Nocturne’, Shelton has created a solo show. 'PULPSHOW' welcomes audiences into a wild, irreverent, hyper-physical mix of dark comedy, anti-burlesque and cynical pole dance. Part-live art happening and part-cabaret, Shelton’s work is known to be sensual, erotic and a little crazy.

And the cherry on the pre-sale ticket cake is none other than ARIA Award-nominated and Helpman Award-winning singer/songwriter IOTA. In ‘Wolf Number Nine’, for one night IOTA will showcase songs from his soon to be released record as well as the songs that span his career. For the uninitiated, IOTA is an icon; melodic, dramatic, poetic, enigmatic, sublime and marvelously ridiculous.
And all of this is just the mini pre-sale release! The full programme is launched next month and rumour has it some pretty exciting international musicians, and a few local circus superstars are also on the bill... Bring on summer in The Garden!
The Garden Of Unearthly Delights will be at Fringe Festival 12 February - 15 March.
