5 Vivid Riots Of Colour And Story In Kabri Art

Kabri
Our eclectic team of writers from around Australia – and a couple beyond – with decades of combined experience and interest in all fields.

Kabri Art focuses on expression with vivid colours and an assortment of techniques.

The talent behind the paint is Kassy Abriola, who grew up on the Sunshine Coast. Surrounded by beautiful beaches, she found inspiration in creating diverse, bright and colourful art. “Sometimes it’s just about colour, brightening your day and making people entrapped in a dreamlike
state of smeared paint,” she says.

“My work is about bringing happiness to the soul while
stimulating your mind with my custom Kabri Art flare. When I paint it takes me to another world where I can just focus on that one thought of creating
through my own inspirations and happiness.

“Growing up I was always very creative and wanted to
explore all venues of the art industry, participating in every class available in my area. Now that I am
more mature and focused on my passion, I have found a way to hone and improve my extensive
skills with the many forms of art classes and finished commission work while always
looking to explore new ventures and opportunities.”

Here are 5 of Kabri Art's colourful and storytelling pieces:

Talking Trash

'Talking Trash' showcases how much trash is disregarded unconsciously in the metropolises and how it’s become a throw-out society disposing of unwanted objects which could be better recycled or reused. The piece also resembles how much trash people can talk and how easy words have wings that spread out of proportion like a game of Chinese whispers.

Brisbane Floods

Brisbane Floods

This special piece entitled ‘Brisbane Floods’ is a heart-filled, dramatic event that hit thousands of people stretching over Brisbane and Ipswich. Residents were displaced by the worst floods the region has endured in 37 years including 970 seeking refuge in evacuation. I show the monster river consuming everything within its path first bursting out from the dam and then taking over the city. Next leaving people without homes and flooding onto streets and pathways where rooftops cannot be seen. The last part of the art piece, ‘the cleanup crew’ which to me resembles the true Aussie spirit that flows like the river through Australia. The community coming together, sharing whatever is available to lend a helping hand to others.

Medusa

This piece was created for the ever growing skate park community to enjoy. The outcome of how vandalism can be turned it into pieces of art to consume people in a positive way instead of unwanted graffiti. Tie the two themes together to display how youths can get involved in legal street art that would be ridden with pride and ownership around the park while still expressing themselves. Linking the culture with pop art was only natural and Medusa to show the entrapped beauty as seen in tight skate communities, with the don’t mess with me attitude.

Lost in lines

Lost in lines

Sketches and doodling always keeps my mind at ease. Whenever I'm sitting down in front of the telly or just need to let some creativity roll, I pick up some pens and scribble. I get lost in tight lines and intense pathways of colour.

Kustom kicks

Exploring custom boards with names/ designs for people keeps me busy. I love collaborating a unique piece for someone that is loved instead of all this mass produced stickers. Enabling a one-off piece keeps people feeling special and selfishly allows me to feel the same. Glad I can help people to turn simple dreams into reality through art.
