Contemporary trash-cabaret 'Sex & Other Philosophies' light-heartedly deconstructs ideas around the concept of what relationships and mindset are all about.
It's part of Redland Performing Arts Centre's (RPAC) Stage Sessions concert series.
Stage Sessions at RPAC gives audiences the chance to try something new – whether it's cabaret or music – from some of the best local, emerging, and established talent. There are a handful of fabulous shows to choose from across four action-packed days.
In 'Sex & Other Philosophies', audiences can expect to have the quirky side of their brains stimulated as Karen Lee Roberts, Lucinda Shaw and James Halloran explore the meaning of the sensual and sensory through poetry, dialogue and original music.
Before the show hits RPAC, Karen Lee Roberts ('Chameleon') lists five dos and don'ts of a first date.
One
Ask: How do you vote? Do not have sex with some who votes badly. This only encourages them. Two
Count red flags. One is one too many.Three
Watch your language. If you swear make it hot. Be clever, but not so damned clever as to make your date Google your vocabulary when you duck to the loo. Citing references is too much. Unless you’re dating your philosophy professor.Four
Use their pronouns. Don’t make us explain why.Five
Do not explain how you are fascinated by serial killers, even if you are. I did this once and never got a second date. I myself, don’t understand why, but apparently it can be a delicate subject.'Sex & Other Philosophies' is on at Redland Performing Arts Centre (Queensland) as part of their Stage Sessions on 2 March.
