Dual US/Canadian citizen Keith Alessi is bringing his one-man show 'Tomatoes Tried To Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life' to the Sydney Fringe.
This is Keith’s maiden voyage onto the main stage.
“They told me it was hard to get into a fringe festival so I applied to five, got into four and now I’m on a three country, two continent world tour!”.
Here, Keith shares five reasons you should definitely attend his show.
The Banjitar
Anyone can bring a banjo. Anybody can play a guitar. I’m bringing a banjitar. Come see what it is.
I’ve never been to the Sydney Opera House
But I’ve been to the Floyd Virginia Country Store. I won’t make fun of your accent and If you don’t make fun of mine!
The most requested banjo tune of all time is...
Not what you think. But I’ll play you what is!
Tomatoes Tried To Kill Me
But they didn’t. I was a corporate CEO who was given a deadly cancer diagnosis with a 15% chance of survival. I’m an over achiever. I’m still here playing banjos. You do the math.
Banjos saved my life
They truly did. I had a big ass banjo collection but up until two years ago I couldn’t play them. Now I can. Come hear them.
'Tomatoes Tried To Kill Me But Banjos Saved My Life' plays The Newsagency from 20-29 September.
