In her final moments a woman's life flashes before her eyes.
Opening the floodgates on achingly personal yet intensely dramatic life-defining events: loss, new love, tragedy and longing, Natalie Weir's 'When Time Stops' is about one moment. The moment you are hurtled into unknown territory… The moment the water rises… The moment you choose to stay or go… The moment when time stops...How we deal with these moments determines who we are, who we become, and what we hold dear.
Benjamin Chapman, dancer with Expressions Dance Company, highlights 5 moments time has stopped in his life:
ONE
Performing a dance solo at assembly when you attend a private boys school was never going to be an easy task. I was terrified, but as I finished, every boy in the auditorium stood and cheered – it was an unforgettable moment.TWO
When loved ones close to me have passed away, time stands still while memories of them flash through my mind, much like the themes we explore in 'When Time Stops'.THREE
When I was younger I really enjoyed springboard diving. The feeling of taking a new trick to the water was an extreme rush. As I started the dive time would slow down until I entered the water – such an amazing feeling.FOUR
Even after hundreds of performances, that one second before I step on stage still seems to take hours. Once I am on stage, the rest of the show is over in a flash. It is amazing the reaction adrenaline has on the body.{youtube}y3Mo6xi5E5U{/youtube}

The moment in my life when time stopped for the longest was holding my baby sister for the first time. When I was younger, all I wanted was a sister. She has been an amazing and hilarious person to grow up with.'When Time Stops' performs Queensland Performing Arts Centre 20-28 May.
