What do you do?
I run a family owned/ established boutique video production company called Mane Collective that is based in the Northern suburbs of Illawarra.
Why do you do it?
It allows me to be creative in a lot of ways but more importantly it gives me a lot of freedom so I can choose my hours and work from home so I can give more time and energy to my family.
What do you love about the city you live in?
I live in a small town called Stanwell Tops and it's part of a string of small communities that make up Illawarra. It is such a breeding ground for creative people and there is nothing better than a community that supports it's people no matter they're having a go at. It's also one of the most stunning coast lines in the world and the energy and beauty of the place is what inspires so many of the artists and creatives in the area.
Where did you go for your last holiday?
The south of Italy. If you want a desolate holiday, the south of Italy in winter is for you! A little wolf creek at times but what a deep historical and cultural experience. Loved it!
What's your favourite item of clothing? Why?
My Hemp shirt for sure! Breathes like a dream, will last forever and makes me look like jesus haha.
What was your favourite TV show when you were a kid?
There are a few but 'The Simpsons' must take the cake.
If you could travel back in time for a day, where would you go?
I'd probably go to the Mesozoic era. To see Dinosaurs would be magical.
If we were coming over to your place, what would you cook for us?
Oh, cooking is my jam! I'd kick off the evening with some pakoras and rosemary flatbread, a main of a Moroccan cauliflower targine (w/ home made preserved lemons) and if you're lucky an apple and blueberry strudel for dessert. Mint tea for a settler too!
What's the best lesson you've ever learned?
Tell the truth.
Tell us one thing about yourself that nobody else knows...
I had a massive crush on my year 2 teacher... I like the older birds I guess haha.
Are you happy with your work/ life balance?
It could be improved for sure. Working on it.
How do you define success?
What's your spirit animal?
