Drawing from the cosy traditions of drive-in cinemas, Ben & Jerry’s Openair Cinema is an outdoor event showcasing quality feature films on an enormous screen from dusk.

Attendees are even encouraged to get comfortable before the movie, by relaxing to the sounds of emerging and established Australian musicians (on Sundays). Massive acts have featured on the B&J stage in the past, including the Cat Empire, Kate Miller-Heidke, Kisschasy, Hungry Kids of Hungary and more.

The eclectic film programme is as equally impressive, lining up quirky comedies, retro classics, great Australian fare, award-winning features and new releases.

The Adelaide event runs from 9 March-9 April, located at Brian Nadilo Reserve, on the Glenelg Foreshore, in front of the Glenelg Surf Club. 'La La Land' will get you singing along on opening night, while the action-packed 'Rogue One' will appeal to sci-fi lovers the following night, and 'Trolls' for the kids on the same weekend.

Weave a bit of magic on the first Sunday night, with 'Fantastic Beasts And Where To Find Them'. For those who decide to spend Sunday at the Openair Cinema, free Ben & Jerry’s ice cream will be provided as part of the ‘Sundae Session’ promotion.

A wide range of snacks will be available to purchase at every screening, plus more filling foods to keep cinemagoers’ tanks running.

You can expect to see films like 'Sing', 'Lion', 'Hidden Figures', 'Moonlight' and even the classic 'Dirty Dancing' throughout Adelaide's movie month, so there's no shortage of selections for every age.

A fully-licensed bar is going to be on site, stocked with frosty beers, sparkling wines, and non-alcoholic offerings. Attendees can bring along a picnic blanket, or are otherwise welcome to hire a lounger upon arrival. Organisers urge guests to arrive early to secure the best possible spot on the grass.

Ben & Jerry's Openair Cinema takes place at Brian Nadilo Reserve from 9 March-9 April.
