Kitsch In The Swich is Ipswich's signature vintage, retro and collectible fair.
Held in September, Kitsch brings together a range of vintage and retro market stalls, fabulous music from the '40s, '50s and '60s and a heap of family-friendly fun! This year's theme is the Atomic Space Age of the 1950s.
Event favourites include the Prom King and Queen Pageant, Pinup Parades, a special appearance by vintage legends Miss Chrissy from the Lindy Charm School and Swing a Billy Ray, swing dancing, vintage fashions, classic cars and more.
Get tips on creating your perfect pinup pout, learn some brand new swing dance moves, shop till you drop at more than 40 retro stalls, grab a bite at one of our many food trucks and enjoy a day of live entertainment and retro fun!
Some of the regular retro and vintage traders are: The Lindy Charm School, Cassandra’s Closet, The Vintage Advantage, Remember When, Cassie’s Corner, Bags with Rhythm, Susan Jane Jewellery, Miki Jo Accessories and Intimo.
There will be opportunities for boys and girls, with Prom King and Queen Pageant categories including: Mr and Ms Swich (overall winners), Vintage Vixens (women, 25+). Big Daddy (men, 25+), High School Sweethearts (couples, all ages), Earth Angel (women, 16-25), Big Man on Campus (men, 16-25), Kitty Be Cool (girls, 8-16), Junior Varsity (boys, 8-16), Little Miss Swich (girls, under 8) and Little Mr Swich (boys, under).
Pageant winners will receive a limited edition Kitsch In The Swich pageant sash and an invitation to star in the advertising for the following year. Prize also includes a vintage fashion shoot with full hair and makeup by Avenging Angels and styling.
